Privacy Policy

CheckShift helps teams build work schedules and manage time off. This policy explains what we collect and how it is used. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
- Account information: the email address or username and password you sign up with. Passwords are stored only as a secure hash.
- Workplace information: restaurant or business names, team member names, and optional role tags that managers enter.
- Schedules: shifts, hours, availability, and notes that managers add. Private manager notes are never shown to team members or on shared links.
- Time-off requests: the dates you request, optional notes, and whether they were approved or denied.
- Device token: if you turn on notifications in the iPhone app, an Apple push token so we can notify you about schedules and requests.
How we use it
Only to run CheckShift: showing schedules to your team, sending the notifications you turned on, and keeping your account secure. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with data brokers.
Who can see it
Managers and supervisors of a workplace can see that workplace’s schedule and team. Team members see published schedules, their own requests, and anonymous counts of teammates’ time off. Anyone with a published schedule’s share link can view that schedule without notes.
Service providers
CheckShift is hosted on Vercel and stores data in a Turso (libSQL) database. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service. These providers process data only to operate the service.
Keeping and deleting data
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account, or on the website under My profile. This removes your login, sessions, and device tokens. Schedules and history you created as part of a workplace stay with that workplace so its records remain complete; a manager can permanently delete a former team member and their history.
Children
CheckShift is meant for workplaces and is not directed to children under 13.
